Fall Is Just Around The Corner
Hello everyone! Hope the summer hasn't been too warm. We are almost through those hazy days of summer and many of you are thinking of re-decorating your homes for the Fall Holidays.
Re-decorating doesn't mean you have to make a complete change or spend a lot of money. There are many ways you can get the new looks for the Fall with very little effort.
First of All, I would like to point out the styles of previous years have been "less is better". Styles have mostly reflected a ZEN peaceful setting and I have to admit I have really liked that look and hate to get rid of it. I was excited to see I could actually incorporate it into the newer style of "bold and colorful" without losing that feel of serenity.
Blush or light Pink and a pale green are hot colors for this year. Throw splashes of raspberry or pomagranite in pillows and accessories and "bingo" you have what it takes to make some changes. Earthtones are still very popular and added with texture in wallpaper and accessories like wood, bamboo and straw you are headed in the right direction. Big & Bold with a statement!
The style this fall seems to be heading into the direction of bold, bright colors and rounded furniture, looking very sleek, but elegant.. With your earthtone outdoor colors you can bring the outside inside.
Some of you will be re-arranging furniture for a new look. I always stand in a room at every corner and make sure the room is balanced with both color and furniture. I find by doing this I am able to blend the colors with the furnishings and have a more completed look as I finish. You can add bright colored pillows and rugs as accents for an inexpensive change.
One thing that has bothered me in past years is white on white. This goes for the outside as well as the inside. Color is "IN" and has been for awhile.
IF YOU WANT WHITE, MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE IT IN YOUR ACCESSORIES. USED CORRECTLY IT CAN BE STUNNING IN A ROOM.
That's all for now. Have fun re-arranging and decorating!
